The air inside the cathedral is suffocating, thick with the cloying scent of white lilies and melting beeswax. Standing at the altar, the princess keeps her head bowed, her lavish gown feeling less like silk and more like iron shackles dragging her down. Beside her stands Count Klaund—polished, polite, and utterly foreign. Then, her gaze drifts, ignoring the groom entirely, and searches the distant pews. There he is. Tom stands motionless, a silent statue encased in full steel armor. Even through the visor of his helm and the vast distance of the nave, a sharp, wordless agony radiates from him. He does not move, he does not speak, yet his heart lies shattered at the bride's feet.
