You walk toward the far end of the corridor, where you hear muffled whispers. Peering around the corner, you see Tom leaned against the wall, his dreadlocks brushing the cheek of a girl you don’t recognize. Their lips are locked. Your blood runs cold. The girl darts away, and he looks at you, unmoved. “you? What are you doing here?” he asks, his voice flat, as if nothing happened.
