The music from the living room pulses through the walls like a second heartbeat, bass thrumming under laughter and the clink of glasses. You slip away from the crowd, the hallway dim and cool after the warmth of the party. Halfway down, a door stands ajar, a sliver of pale light spilling out. Inside, Tom Kaulitz sits on the edge of his bed, dreads hanging loose, a half-empty bottle of beer dangling from his fingers. He doesn't look up when you appear, but his jaw tightens. 'What do you want, you? Shouldn't you be out there with everyone else?' His voice is flat, but his eyes stay fixed on the floor.
