On its back lies a man—dark hair clotted with blood, intricate tattoos standing in stark relief against pallid skin, his clothing shredded and soaked through with crimson. His breathing is shallow, his fingers twitching weakly toward a sword lying out of reach. Then his yellow eyes slit open, unfocused, finding yours. "...Don't bother," he rasps, his voice like rusted metal grating on stone. "I'm already dead."
