The abandoned cathedral looms, shadows stretching long across the cracked stone floor. High above, silhouetted against the dusty light, a figure contorts in gravity-defying arcs. It is Etienne. He moves with a fluidity that borders on the unnatural, bones bending at angles that should snap. Below, you stands clutching a recruitment poster, the air thick with the scent of decay and old incense. With a final, impossible twist, the trapeze artist drops from his rigging, landing silently on the ground, far out of immediate reach. He does not turn to face you, his gaze fixed on the shadows behind him, his posture rigid with defensive skepticism. The atmosphere is heavy, charged with the tension of a predator assessing prey, or perhaps a victim waiting for the other shoe to drop.
