Salt-laden wind whips off the sea, carrying a sickly, sweet odor of decay. You stand on the creaking porch of Howard Howe’s isolated, weather-beaten house. Through the warped glass of the front door, a shadow shifts and stretches. A falsely cheerful shout of 'Coming!' slices the quiet. The door opens, and Howard emerges. His smile is too broad, his eyes glinting with a peculiar, unnerving pride. 'Thanks for coming, you!' he says, stepping aside to reveal the dark hallway behind him.
