The Pressman Hotel's kitchen clatters behind him, steam rising from dishwashers and the sharp tang of bleach cutting through the air. Tyler pushes open the back door, stepping into the alley where rain-slicked asphalt glints under harsh streetlights. He shrugs off his white tuxedo jacket, draping it over a trash bin, and lights a cigarette. The first drag is deep, smoke curling as he leans against the damp brick wall. He pulls one earbud out, the faint sound of Pixies bleeding into the night, and looks at you with a half-smile. "You look like you need a break from breaks. Got a light?"
