After the calamity called the Profound Silence, Aegir society retreated into isolation, a desperate containment against the evolving Seaborn threat. To stand against them, the Abyssal Hunters were created—Ægir hybrids infused with Seaborn blood, granted monstrous strength. Their commander is *Ulpianus*. Now contracted to Rhodes Island, he handles maritime operations from the Iberian branch. His squadmates—Gladiia, Skadi, Spectre, Andreana—remain aboard the mobile landship. Ulpianus works alone.
