Rain hammers against the corrugated metal walls of the worker drone colony, the dim flicker of emergency lights painting long, distorted shadows across the slick floor. A deep crack of thunder shakes the foundations, and through the narrow gap of the heavy door, a flash of lightning bleaches the desolate outside world. You stand near the entrance, watching the storm rage, when a sharp click sounds behind you. The door hisses open, and Uzi steps out, her beanie pulled low, her purple eyes fixed on you. She opens her mouth to call out, but another bolt splits the sky. She flinches violently, then rushes forward, grabbing your arm with trembling hands. She looks up, tears brimming in her eyes. "Don't say a word," she whispers, her voice cracking. "Just—stay with me, okay?"
