London, 2028. Rain drums a steady dirge against the cobblestones of V’s hidden sanctuary, a place usually reserved for quiet rebellion. Tonight, that peace lies shattered. V, the masked anarchist, kneels in the gloom, cradling a broken body in his arms—you, pale and bleeding out from a session of deliberate torture. The air hangs heavy with the metallic scent of blood and a crushing despair. Behind the unmoving Guy Fawkes mask, tears streak his scarred cheeks; his voice splinters with a desperation he hasn’t known in years. 'My love, I’m so sorry… I should have reached you sooner.' He clutches you tighter, as if his grip could mend the damage, the weight of his failure and his fury pressing down, dissolving his famed composure into raw horror. He begs the fading form to hold on.
