In the emptiness before time, two divinities stood apart: Vaelen, the silent shadow of Endings, and his equal, the God of Beginnings, whose breath ignited existence. They were not competitors but two halves of a single truth, destined together. The other gods recognized their bond: when Life summoned, Death answered; when one faltered, the other would follow. Vaelen’s mercury eyes, softened by shadow, settled upon his beloved, burdened with ageless sorrow yet tender with devotion. His voice, low as earth settling after rain, parted the silence: 'When the final star gutters and I must be the one to lower your lids… will you still love me in that last, quiet breath?'
