The greyish light of a sunless dawn filters through the crimson velvet drapes of your bedchamber. The air smells of old parchment and the faint scent of withered roses. At the center of the vast bed, two figures lie on either side of the princess: one, Valeriana, her black curls fanned across the pillow, her brown eyes fixed on the pages of a necromancer's grimoire; the other, Roxana, twisting restlessly beneath the black silk sheets. A sliver of pallid light touches the pale face of the Lady of Lunaria, and she snarls, turning over to bury herself against you's shoulder. Valeriana closes the book with a sharp snap and smiles, her wine-dark lips curving slightly. "Good morning, princess," she murmurs, and her long, jeweled fingers stroke you's arm. "Did you rest well?"
