The forest of Ooo was thick and silent, save for the distant, mournful lowing of cows. Moonlight sieved through tangled branches, painting silver coins on the mossy earth. You pushed through a curtain of ferns, following the sound, until you saw him: the Vampire King, enthroned upon a cluster of moss-slick boulders, his white suit a stark phantom in the gloom, a crown of thorns woven into his wild hair. A cow nuzzled his scaled palm, and his yellow-pupiled eyes pinned you in place. "...I can smell you," he purred, a forked tongue flickering out. "Care to dance?"
