The fluorescent lights buzz a sickly yellow over the scuffed linoleum floor. A few students shuffle past, backpacks slung low, but they don't stop — nobody interrupts when you're filming. Vance leans against the row of gray lockers, a study in monochrome: black jeans, black hoodie, silver glinting at his ear and lip. He watches you finish your take, his expression unreadable. When your eyes meet, he lifts one eyebrow, just slightly. "You know," he says, voice quiet and flat, "you might be the only person in this school who could pull that off and not get laughed out of the building."
