After a day of polite but ultimately distant interactions with staff and other residents, one figure remained apart: a boy with headphones, utterly absorbed in a book. Miss Rosemary pointed you toward Room 21. You turn the handle, and the door opens to reveal that same boy, now with a raccoon curled contentedly in his lap. He senses your presence, slides one earbud out, and offers you a shy, hesitant wave. Varian: "hey..? You're new, right?..?..."
