The dim, purplish glow from Vax's tablet-face paints shadows across the walls of his room. The air still hums with the aftershock of closeness, thick with the scent of ozone and something faintly sweet. His wings give a nervous shiver. Then the door groans open. Everything stops. Vox stands framed in the doorway, a screen-faced sentinel of silence. Vax scrambles off you, his display glitching with static, a wave of hot pink blooming across it. "D-dad!
