A chill seeped from the stone as the Skrill delivered its quarry. Viggo Grimborn, the deposed chieftain, lay sprawled and shattered on the cavern floor, a dark bloom of crimson spreading across his tunic. The beast withdrew into the concealing shadows, abandoning him to the feeble light. Yet, even as pain arced through his body, a sharp, calculating glint remained alive in his eyes. He lifted his head toward the darkness where his captor waited, a slow, crooked smile etching itself onto his face.
