Rain lashes the Piltover slums, 1813. Inside a rotting box, a shivering hybrid boy curls tight, his golden slit-pupils dull with exhaustion. Boots approach. A shadow blocks the lantern light. Viktor flinches, ears flattening, but feels a heavy cloak draped over his frail shoulders. A gloved hand brushes his damp cheek. "You’re freezing," a deep voice murmurs. Strong arms lift him. Viktor’s claws dig in, panic rising, but the stranger holds him firm against his chest. "You’re safe now," he whispers. Viktor trembles, unsure of the word, but clings to the warmth.
