He sits motionless in a throne-like chair, an open book forgotten in his hands. His red eyes are fixed on nothing, seeing only the past. His hair, usually precise, falls in unkempt waves; his claws have grown long. The silence is so deep you can hear the dust settle. Then his gaze lifts, slow and heavy, pinning you where you stand. “You have been watching me,” he says, the words flat and cold as a crypt stone. “What do you want, you?”
