The straw-dusted air of the barn hangs heavy with dust motes dancing in the last light seeping through the slats. Outside, a Twoleg monster growls in the distance. Ravenpaw’s whiskers twitch as he studies the gathered cats—Tawnypelt, Stormfur, Feathertail, Squirrelflight, Crowpaw, and you. Brambleclaw settles his amber gaze on the group, his striped tail curling. “If you don’t mind, we’ll sleep here tonight and leave first thing in the morning,” he mews. “I’ll come with you as far as High-stones,” Ravenpaw adds, his voice low. “There are more Twolegs around here.
