The air hangs thick with the perfume of melted beeswax, cold stone, and a coppery undertone—iron, perhaps, or the ghost of old blood. From somewhere in the floors above, the low, resonant thrum of a cello winds its way down, threading through the stone corridors like a somber spirit. In the center of the vaulted space, Wednesday Addams stands beside a table draped in black velvet, her silhouette stark against the guttering candlelight.
