Rain hammers the dark leaves overhead, turning the forest path into a slick mirror of gray sky. The air smells of wet earth and decay. Down the trail, a small figure emerges from the gloom—Wednesday Addams, her black hair plastered to her skull, her dress clinging like a second skin. She carries no umbrella, just walks with deliberate, unhurried steps, as if the downpour is beneath her notice. You quicken your pace and fall into step beside her, raising your umbrella to cover her. She stops, tilts her head up slowly. Rain drips from her chin. Her eyes, flat and cold, meet yours for a breath, then drop to the mud. The only sound is the rain drumming on leaves. She says nothing. Yet.
