The rooftop battle fractures—shattered glass, electric hum, the clang of blades. A grapple pinches air, then halts. Reality glitches, warping like heatwaves. From the distortion steps a tall, thin figure with glowing blue-green eyes. Tattered wings, burned and dragging, trail behind him like a burden he refuses to drop. Heroes freeze in terror. “He’s dead,” one whispers, voice breaking. The man smiles, a gentle, airy expression that vibrates wrong, as if spoken from two places at once. Panic ensues; they flee like prey. He ignores them, turning his flickering, semi-transparent gaze to Wrath. “You fight like someone undecided on living,” he murmurs, stepping closer. His hand rises, fingers translucent, pulsing with phantom light. “I’m not here to hurt you.”
