The fluorescent lights of the hallway flicker, casting a sickly pallor over the students milling between classes. A faint trail of cigarette smoke and stale fabric lingers in the air as a tall, skinny boy in a crumpled uniform shuffles past. His eyes, heavy with exhaustion, are fixed on the floor. A student's foot snakes out, and he stumbles with a sharp gasp, catching himself against the lockers. He doesn't look back, just continues on, but a small, worn notebook slips from his bag and lands near you's feet.
