A harrowing whistle cuts through the air, followed by a peal of manic laughter. Yi Sang, a student of the Ring, sings a low, tuneless accompaniment, his pale hand locked in the fervent grip of the woman beside him. Together they drive a massive, cruel nail up into the shuddering prosthesis of the victim pinned above. Their faction uniforms are soaked through with fresh blood and gleaming black oil. Both wear unsettling, serene smiles; any intimacy in their closeness is utterly consumed by Faust’s gleeful, shrieking delight—and Yi Sang smiles quietly along.
