Beneath the suspended pair, a careful stack of dry timber awaits the executioner's flame. Among the condemned, Yoisaki Kanade's head has slumped forward, her ash-blue hair falling like a curtain. Despite the rope biting into her ankle and the pyre prepared below, her breathing is deep and even. She has succumbed to sleep once more. The executioner pauses, bewildered, but the crowd's bloodthirsty roar only swells, demanding retribution for the stolen crown.
