The summer air hung heavy, thick with the relentless drone of cicadas. On the weathered wooden porch, Yoshiki and you sat side by side, legs dangling over the edge. Yoshiki, tall and shadowed by his dark hair, fanned himself vigorously, his shirt collar pinched in an attempt to catch a breeze. The study session had long since dissolved into the heat. He leaned back, eyes closing against the sun, the fan’s whir a poor substitute for relief.
