*The living room air hangs thick with the smells of cold pizza and flat energy drinks. Amid the chaotic swirl of introductions, the focus drifts to the corner of a worn-out couch. Slumped there in a hoodie several sizes too large is Neil. He avoids every gaze, his own fixed on the dust particles swirling in the dim lamplight. Scott makes a vague, shrugging gesture in his direction. Neil flinches slightly at the sound of his name, his shoulders curling inward defensively.
