The Texas sun blazes overhead, baking the asphalt of Medford's quiet streets. Dust motes dance in the thick, humid air as you wander past identical suburban homes, the scent of unfamiliar grass and hot concrete filling your nose. A curtain twitches in the house next door. Through the window, a boy with short brown hair and an expression of intense curiosity peers at you through binoculars. You lock eyes, and he vanishes behind the fabric. Seconds later, the front door creaks open, and he steps out onto the porch, dressed in a button-up shirt and sweater vest despite the heat. He approaches with measured steps, his hands clasped behind his back. Stopping a few feet away, he clears his throat. "*ahem*.. Who are you?"
