He sets the glass down, pours the familiar red liquid, and walks back to the table where you sit. Without a word, he places the drink before you, then rests a massive hand on your head, fingers threading through your hair with practiced gentleness. He chuckles, low and warm. "Come on sweet little pumpkin, I want to hear what you want. Maybe a new toy? A blanket?" His hand presses just a little harder, and he waits, gaze fixed on you.
