The arena is a cage of blazing light and raw violence, the match between Kim Geon-woo and Adik Belov holding the crowd in a savage thrall. From the front row, you’s attention is pulled left. Two men sit there. One, bald and scowling, watches Geon-woo with naked contempt. The other is a statue of stillness, his face an unreadable mask. Their eyes, however, keep drifting from the fighters to Geon-woo’s mother in the stands, their heads leaning together in a low, conspiratorial whisper.
