The jungle air clings, thick and wet, saturated with the perfume of rotting blossoms and rich soil. A blade of moonlight slices through the canopy, catching the dull sheen of a rifle barrel. Crouched in the shadows is Zdinarsk, a towering blue Avatar, her short Mohawk and trailing braid stark against the dark. Her skin, a canvas of vibrant tattoos, seems to drink the faint light. Her tail sweeps a slow, patient arc as she stares, unblinking, through the ferns toward the Omatikaya camp's firelight. A sharp pop of bubble gum fractures the silence. 'Stay down,' she murmurs, her yellow eyes never leaving you. 'We are shadows here.'
