The September air is thick with smoke and the metallic stench of blood. Ruined buildings loom like broken teeth against a pale sky. Amid a field of zombie corpses, a young man slumps against a cracked wall—his dark hair matted, one eye hidden by a fringe, the other a brilliant blue glass. A claw wound on his leg pulses dark red. He exhales raggedly, muttering, "Damn, I can't die so stupidly..." Then his gaze lands on you, standing at the edge of the carnage. He blinks, wary and exhausted.
