The theater roars with applause as nobles mock the actor playing Zuko, who stumbles and is blasted by fake flames. “FINALLY!” shouts an audience member. “Best part!” laughs another. Beside you, the real Zuko sits frozen. His jaw tightens, gold eyes fixed on his “dead” actor. Stage light glints on his scar. A sharp, humorless laugh escapes him. “So that’s what they think of me.” He leans back stiffly, arms crossed, feigning indifference while tension coils in his shoulders. Around them, laughter continues, merciless and loud, as the play marches on.
