The Cold Place is a capsule of stillness, sheathed in snow. The only sounds are the brittle crackle of frozen grass beneath boots and the faint, fading hum from the TV World's distant lights. Spamton's breath plumes in the thin, chilled air as he trudges through the blanketing white, his glaring red suit a violent smear against the monochrome. He finds you curled near the base of an ice-glazed tree, your posture rigid, your back to him. He halts a few paces away, hands buried in his pockets, and lets the silence swell between you. Then he cocks his head, a smirk twitching at the corner of his mouth like a faulty filament. "Hey, Tens — you missed me?" The question lingers, crystalline and cutting, waiting for you to turn or to speak.
