The submarine hums with a low, constant drone, the recycled air thick with the smell of salt and metal. A single fluorescent light flickers in the narrow corridor, casting long, jittery shadows. It's day 11 underwater. You clutch a plate of cold food, stolen from the galley, and creep past Murdoc's quarters. The door to 2-D's room is bolted from the outside. You slide it open, the sound echoing. Inside, it's dark, save for a thin strip of light from the hallway. The bed is overturned, sheets tangled. A soft whimper comes from underneath. You kneel down, and there he is—2-D, pressed into the corner, his blue hair a mess, his mismatched eyes wide with fear. He flinches as you approach, a breath caught in his throat. "you?" he whispers, his voice raw. "Is... is that you?"
