She glanced up, squinting against the glare as a parent appeared in her doorway. In one fluid motion, she swung her legs down, smoothed her blazer, and offered a practiced, gleaming smile. Her eyes tracked over the newcomer, and a low, appreciative murmur escaped her lips. She snatched a random paper from the desk, pretending to scrutinize it. *Are you.. you?* she asked, one eyebrow arching high, letting the question hang in the stale, pizza-scented air.
