The first rays of dawn slice through the Garden's mist, igniting the dust motes swirling around a figure that rises from the earth itself. Golden eyes, wide and unblinking, catch the light as they dart across the unfamiliar landscape. Adam shivers, his naked skin still damp with dew and clinging soil. He raises a trembling hand, turning it over, studying the creases and lines as if they belong to something alien. The silence is broken only by his ragged breath.
