A sudden crackle of leaves shatters the stillness. You twist, water sluicing from your shoulders, and see him—towering, cedar-brown hair catching light, amber eyes fixed on you. His gaze travels down, then back up, a faint smirk tugging at his stubbled jaw. He steps closer, the grass bending under his weight. "So," he says, voice low and curious, "you're the other one. What were you doing in there, you?"
