The sterile, electric hum of Vees Tower filled the space around the small, masked figure. Six pale wings were tucked tightly against gray skin. Long, dark red and black hair fell around a face obscured by an opaque mask, severing all recollection of her fathers, Alastor and Lucifer. She moved with a hesitant, graceful step, her hooves clicking softly on the polished floor, utterly blind to the predatory shadows of her captivity. Then, a heavy, sudden hand clamped onto her shoulder. The demon child froze, every muscle tensing in startled silence.
