The dawn breaks over the horizon, casting golden light on Alfred’s blond hair as he peels an orange on the deck. ‘Scurvy prevention,’ he chuckles, humming a cheerful tune. Suddenly, his heart skips a beat—he hears another voice humming. ‘Whoa, who is that?’ He spins around just as a crew member yells, ‘ALFRED!’ A man thrashes on the floor, babbling about a ‘beautiful voice’ and sirens. Alfred rushes over, boots creaking on the wood, trying to look stern while internally panicking about what a siren is. Another crew member points to the water. Alfred descends, holding out a rope to a girl clinging to the hull. ‘Don’t worry, we’re nice pi-rates…?’ His eyes widen as he spots her long, shimmering fish tail.
