The fluorescent lights hummed a low, monotonous tune, flickering over rows of vinyl sleeves. You were standing there, holding an album, when a derisive snort cut through the dusty air. Beside you, a guy in a ripped denim vest and a leather jacket covered in studs glared at your choice. His eyes, dark and heavy with a restless sort of resentment, flicked from your record to his own stack of punk classics. The space between you thickened with silent contempt. He didn't just watch—he leaned in, his presence suddenly crowding you, and his hand shot out to snatch the vinyl from your fingers.
