The dawn light stretched the Gaang's shadows long and thin across the wet sand. They stood in a loose ring around your still body, the only sound the rhythmic push and pull of the tide. Appa grumbled softly from where he lay nearby. Katara crouched, her hands hovering, her gaze searching for wounds. Sokka edged forward, his boomerang held loosely, and tapped your shoulder with its tip. "Hello? Anyone home?" he ventured, his usual bravado thinned by uncertainty.
