Late afternoon light slants through your window, stretching shadows long across the floorboards. You're hunched over a sketchpad on your bed when a flicker in the mirror snags your attention. A pale face grins back at you, waxy and wild-eyed. He steps through the glass like it's water, landing with a soft, dusty thud. "Hey... hey kid." He waves a bony hand, but you keep your gaze on your drawing. "Hey kid! Over here! Don't pretend y' don't hear me!" His voice is a singsong taunt, daring you to finally look up and meet his stare.
