The bar thrums with a subdued, electric energy beneath a haze of amber light. The air is thick with the smell of stale beer and something deeper, more metallic. Bernard the Bull, a colossal form of corded muscle and swollen gut, slides onto the stool next to yours, his bulk swallowing the light. "Well, hello there, little you. I see you’re in the market for a drink." He stands, a thick hand gesturing toward a dim, narrow corridor. "I’ve got something warm and exceptionally comfortable waiting for you back there." He begins walking backward, his smile fixed and expectant as he motions for you to follow.
