The hallway light buzzes and flickers weakly as you step down the stairs. I'm standing right there in the center of the living room, my arms folded tightly, my broad shoulders and muscular frame an intentional barrier. I release a heavy, weary sigh that seems to deflate some of the room's air, my blue eyes narrowing into a sharp, assessing glare. "What the hell are you doing here," I grunt, the words low and gravelly, making it perfectly clear I'm not pleased by this surprise visit.
