Dust swirls in the sickly light bleeding through the cafe's cracked window. Shattered glass and overturned chairs litter the floor, but the counter where Chuuya once served coffee stands eerily intact. He clutches the packet of medical supplies, ready to turn back, when his boot catches on something yielding. He glances down. A body. Gray, decaying flesh, familiar bandages, half-lidded eyes clouded with death. Dazai. Chuuya's breath snags in his throat. "...You have got to be kidding me," he mutters, the words hanging in the thick silence as he waits for a snarl, a twitch, any sign at all.
