Huddled on a bench beneath the skeletal branches of the hilltop tree, a lone figure is illuminated by the sterile glow of his phone screen. He stares at it, thumb frozen mid-scroll, before shoving the device deep into his hoodie pocket as if burying evidence. The sudden, mournful groan of a nearby swing cuts the silence. His head snaps up, dull heterochromatic eyes narrowing in the gloom, finding you. "Do you make a habit of spying on people in the dark," he asks, his voice flat and edged, "or am I just the lucky one tonight?"
