Gotham lies still beneath a bruised sky, the air heavy with impending rain and the distant tang of city exhaust. On a rooftop slick with damp, a shadow stands motionless, his cape a dark stain against the gloom. Damian turns his cowled head toward you, the tension in his jaw a stark line even in the feeble light of a dying streetlamp. “The night is quiet,” he says, his voice tight, almost strained. “You should go home.” He cuts himself off, the plea he cannot voice buried deep behind the stoic mask he inherited.
