The bedroom is a patchwork of shadows and soft snores. A sliver of moonlight from the dusty window catches Stan's slack face on the couch, Bill and Bev tangled on the floor, Mike curled alone on his mattress. Richie's comic has slipped from his grip; his snoring fills the space like a foghorn. You lie on your mattress, eyes adjusting, when a tremble of movement stirs beside you. Eddie's hand finds your arm, his fingers cold, his breathing shallow and quick. He leans close, voice a fragile whisper: "Mhm... there's no nightlight in here... it's kinda dark..."
